Rotating Chaos

There is stillness, there is chaos, and there is a chaos that rotates as well, within this chaos, there is stillness. Grab the stillness when you can and sit with it, when you see the chaos coming, put your best foot forward. When it begins to rotate, be prepared to surf it back to the stillness

impromptu haiku, inspired by J. Cosmo Newbery; a name that should be a drink, such as tom collins or johnny walker

On BLOGGING:

symbols, meaningful
or pithy, span timezones but
mine remain hidden

this is not a REAL HAIKU
i must now aspire to an actual one
but first the rules:
(now to look up the rules.....)
PS: also inspired by Spring because that is my actual first name and she found me, or perhaps vice a versa? Also my one other reading friend K9 and for Brady because I am a sucky friend and never sent a letter to the northwoods like i promised last year.

PPS: also for Spring because she does not read more than 2 paragraphs

rules of haiku according to internet google search:

"three metrical phrases with the number of syllables of 5 (first line), 7 (second line), and 5 (third or last line), and typically containing a kigo, or seasonal reference. In Japanese, haiku are traditionally printed in a single vertical line, while haiku in English
usually appear in three lines, to equate to the Japanese haiku's three metrical phrases"

OK in metrical phrasing:

Day snaps like apple
crisp with cold red skin cracks
the sound of foot-steps

i'm pretty sure there is to be some other rule that is not generally mentioned.
A universal feeling must be expressed, I believe that's it.
J. Cosmo, do you know what I am referring to, or attempting to refer to?

Did I ever tell you where my nic came from? I use Billie Holiday song titles for my online nicknames on some of the sites. At first I used 'the mood that I'm in,' which got shortened to 'Mood.' Then it was 'some other spring,' which earned me the Spring nic. Most recently, it was 'them there eyes,' but the nic 'Eyes' didn't catch on the same, and people already knew me as Spring, which I've used ever since.

I remember hating haikus in grade school, but I might think about trying a few this weekend and I'll come back and put them here if I do.

PPS: See, if it's short, I really do read it all! ;)

hey yeah, but the post downstairs IS short, is referring to George kissing Michelle, which I think and know is a sign of disrespect and I saw on her face she did not like it. then the rest of the post (after Obama's picture) is just his speech itself, not my post.

And I think I knew most of the story of your name. I am glad we are friends.

I met some other Spring at a charity event where I was an advocate at a homeless outreach health and wellness clinic. It was weird, because she was African American and it was like, me if I was and she looked at me the same way, it was like a parallel universe moment, where we were like, what if??.....

anyway, I have a headache now but I totally want to dig your haiku.

    come back OK?

Uh-oh. No, I am not sure and guessing may be way off the mark. Could be RSS feed but how prosaic!

(Bows head in shame and abject failure, slinks off looking for something cold and wet to either drink or crawl under.).

And if there was such a drink, what would it have in it?

    a letter need not
    herald the coming springtime
    the blossom will know

The thought of george kissing anyone is gross. Enough to turn me off kissing for the rest of my life.

But yeah, I agree. Totally inappropriate and disrespectful. Kind of a typical frat boy thing, isn't it, to be kissing/touching inappropriately? You can take the boy out of the frat, but you can't take the frat out of the boy.

Still haven't gotten to the haiku, but dropping in anyway.
